SOAK named on BBC’s Sound of 2015

soakbbcsoundof2015Derry/Londonderry singer songwriter SOAK has been named on the BBC’s Sound of 2015.

Most in Northern Ireland should already know this teenager as one of our country’s finest artists, armed with delicate offerings of acoustic guitar and open and honest vocals. It’s a fresh approach to songwriting, no electric guitars to fill the emptiness and no-where to hide. SOAK definitely doesn’t need to.

Releases such as ‘B a noBody’ and ‘Blud’ launched her into the nationwide mainstream media and has attracted an array of new fans from all over the world and it’s safe to say that this is one act we expect to go places.

Also named on the BBC’s Sound of 2015 are George the Poet, James Bay, Kwabs, Lapsley, Novelist, Rae Morris, Raury, Shamir, Shura, Slaves, Stormzy, Sunset Sons, Wolf Alice and Years & Years.

Previous winners include Sam Smith, Adele, Ellie Goulding, HAIM and Jessie J.
