Mini Mansions release new track ‘Vertigo’ featuring Alex Turner

minimansionsMini Mansions have released their new track titled ‘Vertigo’ featuring Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner.

The LA trio are out on tour supporting Royal Blood (previously playing at the Ulster Hall in Belfast) who first came to attention through the endorsement of Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders. Mini Mansions have gone one better by getting a thumbs-up from main Monkey Alex Turner, who sings a cameo on the band’s new song, Vertigo, a magnificent psych-pop tune featuring fuzzy guitar, a twinkling chorus and a trippy organ solo. That’s far from their only starry connection – drummer Michael Shuman doubles as the bassist in Queens of the Stone Age.

Mini Mansions second album, The Great Pretenders, is the first release on T-Bone Burnett’s new Electromagnetic Recordings label in the USA, released via Fiction Records in the UK. Their harmonious pop is closer to the work of the Beach Boys than Burnett’s usual down-home fare, so it’s a good job Brian Wilson is on the album too.
