The Shires set for Belfast show

photoHertfordshire based country duo The Shires have announced a Belfast show at McHugh’s Basement for Monday 21st July.

The Shires – Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes – are a new band that play Country music as if they came from South of the US, rather than the South East of the UK, they are that good. After playing hardly half a dozen shows together The Shires caught the attention of Decca Records who signed them in the UK and they secured a contract with American based record label Universal Music Group Nashville thus becoming the first ever UK country act to be signed to a major Nashville label.

Their first single “Nashville Grey Skies” was released on April 4, 2014 and received its first airplay on the Bob Harris BBC Radio 2 Country show on April 3, 2014. It was added to the BBC Radio 2 “B” Playlist for the week commencing Saturday May 3, 2014 and climbed to the “A” playlist the following week.

Tickets for The Shires Belfast show are on sale tomorrow, Tuesday 10th June, priced £10.50 excluding fees from all usual outlets.
