Amanda St John – If I Should Fall

‘If I Should Fall’
sees Amanda St John take on more of a pop ballad format and although laden with moments of hat tipping to her roots of blues, this feels slightly different.

From the outset this track is unapologetically laidback, leisurely opening with soft guitar riffs and twangs before the soulful songstress opens. The tempo picks up and culminates with male backing vocals throughout the chorus; however it is again St John’s vocal that dominates.

It might sound obvious but St Johns voice really is her best asset. Commanding yet soulful, her voice is pushed to the realms of where I suspected it was capable of, on this track. Having already achieved so much in a short space of time, we ponder what is next for this NI talent. Michael Chapman,
