Little Matador official press shotLittle Matador is set to take the stage at Friday Night Mashup in Derry this month – ensuring the biggest local tech networking event ends with a ‘Boom Boom’.

Little Matador, fronted by Snow Patrol guitarist Nathan Connolly and riding high on the success of their new single ‘Boom Boom’, will perform at Friday Night Mashup at Derry’s Ebrington Square on the evening of Thursday September 18th.

Also joining the band will be top local bands in the form of Oh Volcano, Seven Summits and punk band Barney. The Mashup line-up adds to an already great weekend of music with the MTV Crashes event taking place in Ebrington on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th.

The aim of the event is to connect, engage and inspire tech talent to make an impact in export markets in the US and Europe. Aside from the high-octane music programme, Friday Night Mashup will be bringing together a number of high-profile speakers from the global tech and digital communications scene. According to FNM spokesperson Aaron Taylor it’s “a huge coup for the Mashup to be joined by Little Matador and such high quality talent from the local music scene. Little Matador joins a stellar line up of fantastic local and global talent, including a brand strategist who has worked with the world’s top companies and a homegrown Google creative. We’re extremely excited about the upcoming event and in bringing the Mashup format to Northern Ireland’s ‘City of Culture’ for the first time,” he said.

According to Little Matador frontman Nathan Connolly: “We’re really excited to be playing in the North West and looking forward to putting on a great show. I’m very proud of the Little Matador record and we’re getting a major buzz bringing our music to new audiences.”

The Friday Night Mashup movement began in November 2013 – with the June event drawing in over 450 people to a big top tent in the heart of Belfast’s Titanic Quarter. Alongside top-class entertainment, the event will see a demos from breakthrough startups and hear from domain experts in the tech industry.
