Dublin band GANGS are delighted to announce that they will be accompanying The Strypes on their hugely anticipated Irish tour.
To add further excitement for GANGS fans, the four-piece will also be opening for iconic 80’s ‘new wave’ band, The Blades for their sold out Christmas show in Dublin’s 1,600 capacity Olympia Theatre.
“We’re obviously delighted to be opening for The Blades; we’re all big fans of theirs. Last year they sold out two nights here (The Olympia) and we’re told its heading for the same again. They all came down to our gig at Electric Picnic which was nice…look it’s a huge compliment and we’re ready to put on a top show, to be playing in front of so many people will be sweet too” said Jordan Curtis.
2014 has been an exceptional year for the Dubliners. Having just released their debut EP Back to School, the teenage rock and roll 4-piece have sold out numerous venues throughout the capital as well playing to considerable audiences across London. The blistering year kept getting better when Jerry Fish invited them to play Electric Picnic. The latest invitation by The Strypes to travel Ireland together comes as no surprise to a band that is brimming with confidence.
“We want to be playing these big shows all the time, it’s where we belong. Opening for The Blades and The Strypes will give us a nice taste of what’s to come next year, we’re all delighted with how this year has gone but we want it all now” explains Johnny Halpin.
