Nick Mulvey concludes a fantastic breakthrough 2014 with the release of a new single,I Don’t Want To Go Home, taken from his critically acclaimed top 10, Mercury Prize nominated debut album, First Mind.
It impacts on 15th December through Fiction Records, with a digital release available now backed by Nick’s Radio 1 Live Lounge cover of Drake’s Hold On, We’re Going Home.
The brand new video [see below] was shot during Nick’s Summer tour of Australia and during the new studio recording of I Don’t Want To Go Home with Johnny Flynn. Commencing the year on the BBC Sound of 2014 poll, Nick Mulvey has taken his hypnotic acoustic music to all four corners of the globe, and is building an ever-expanding army of fans everywhere
Having already been nominated for the Mercury Prize in his former band Portico Quartet, Nick follows that success with this year’s nomination, warranted solely on his own merits. It’s a record that stands apart from his peers, a groove-based, loose-limbed beast that showcases Nick’s otherworldly guitar-picking style, and the obtuse shapes they conjure.
I Don’t Want To Go Home has become a recent live favourite, with Nick stepping out into bigger, sold-out venues with a full band in tow.
