Jun Tzu presents Hip-Hop Showcase Four Fours
Belfast born rapper Jun Tzu has teamed up with Antidote Emcees to present a quarter annual hip hop showcase in the Empire Hall starting on 30th January 2015.
Born in Belfast, based in Manchester, rapper Jun Tzu is returning to his home town to host “Four Fours,” a new quarter annual hip hop showcase. When we asked him how he felt about his return to Northern Ireland’s capital, he said “I’m really looking forward to this show! We’ve picked a very strong line up, not just of Emcee’s, but DJ’s, Human Beatboxers, Breakdancers and Graffiti Artists also.”
He continues on how he believes Four Fours could be great. “The Hip Hop culture is very much alive and well in Belfast, a few friends and I thought the city deserved a consistent Hip Hop Showcase. Running a monthly event seemed a bit overkill, so we decided a Quarter Annual Showcase would be perfect and that is how we came up with Four Fours.”
Jun continued, “In my opinion it’s the strongest Hip Hop line up Belfast has ever saw! We have the legendary UK Hip Hop pioneer Skinnyman performing for the 10 year anniversary of his inspirational album, “Council Estate of Mind”, the highly respected Revolutionary artist Logic, and Manchester’s most infamous Wordsmith Meany. Aswell as DJ Snuff, Militant Vinylist, B-Boy Mouse, Human Beatbox Cull and the Four Fours Live Band, led by gypsy wish genius guitarist Declan McKerr. Its going to be a really amazing night!”
Since releasing his debut album, “The Troubles.” earlier this year, Jun Tzu has been touring the songs and working on new material (we believe an EP is due out around May) while also delivering his unique poetry workshops in schools, prisons, and youth groups across Northern Ireland and Manchester.
Jun is now teaming up with the Antidote Emcees team who have been curating live hip hop events in Belfast venues since 2011. Together they plan to showcase a Quarter annual celebration of Hip Hop culture, featuring artists from across the globe alongside Belfast’s homegrown talents.
