PEACE is one of those bands on a meteoric rise and certainly must be checked out.
This…well…frankly, fecking brilliant band is not to be missed. And lucky for Belfast, PEACE has put Belfast on their massive UK tour.
PEACE, a four piece alt-rock band from The Midlands is a tight, polished group; especially for ones so young and so early in their career. Nevertheless, polished they are.
Their music genre hops a bit hitting various notes of familiarity; a sort of stylish re-tooling of the chic, rock star esthetics of the early days of The Rolling Stones, the sexy, deeper, well-rounded tones of Echo and the Bunnymen, to the hint of Oasis in the ballads. And that’s just the vocals. It’s a throbbing bass line, drums loud, crashing; almost to the point of industrial, but much more exquisite. Blinding guitar solos and precociously evocative lyrics are just the cherry on the cake.
PEACE is guaranteed to deliver a hands in the air, crowd-surfing, exuberant live performance. And why not? Besides unbridled talent, they’ve got the release of their album, Happy People, featuring the infectious new single, I’m a Girl to celebrate.
Oh, and a spoiler alert, they like to say, “fuck”…a lot. However, knowing my Belfast friends as I do, I don’t think you’ll mind too much. You can see for yourself, and I encourage you to do so because they are only in town for one night. PEACE plays Belfast on March 19th at Empire Music Hall.
