Catchy and instantly memorable ‘Holding Me Down’ kicks the EP into full force, great foot tapper and you’ll be humming the riff for days! ‘Listen’ then hits like a kick in the face with a ripping blues riff and the power of the vocal shining through right from the opening line. It is sure to, as intended, grab the crowd’s attention instantly and make them shut up and listen to whats on offer.
The more laid back ‘Time To Make A Change’ with intricate piano parts and hooky guitar riffs is a great production of a song about finding solace, great easy listening. Swift mood change as ‘To Feel Alive’ shows the darker side of his song writing, in which he portrays moments of clarity in a lifestyle that can swallow up the best of us. With vulnerable verses and a massive chorus almost Black Key-esque.
In terms of a debut EP it shows a great talent emerging in Ryan McMullan, very promising. Paddy Fowler, GiggingNI.com
