The first production of Metropolis Festival takes place indoors at the RDS, Dublin on 7th & 8th November 2015!
Across 6 rooms, this 2 day affair will feature live music, performance, conversations (featuring a handpicked panel of creatives) and unique installations which will transform the RDS into an audio-visual playground.
Their conversation line-up, curated by Greedy Pig, and their installation line-up will be announced in the weeks to come but, in the meantime, they are delighted to reveal their first announcement of artists performing live at Metropolis – a very special, fresh offering to the festival circuit.
CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers will be taking to the Metropolis stage. Among music legends, Nile Rodgers is truly exceptional. He amplifies his legacy as a Grammy-winning composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist by constantly traversing new musical terrain and successfully expanding the boundaries of popular music.
They’ll also be welcoming The Roots to the Metropolis stage for their first Dublin show in over 10 years! These incredible artists have been pushing boundaries with their signature brand of hip hop and neo soul since ’87. The Roots regularly feature at the top of lists of the Best Hip Hop Acts of All Time with a breathtaking live show to match.
Musician, singer, DJ and Producer, Mark Ronson is a certified hit machine. He’s produced records for the likes of Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Lana Del Ray and more. He released one of the biggest records of the past few years in Uptown Funk, which has cemented is position as one of the most coveted producers on the planet. When he isn’t writing chart topping hits, his first love is spinning records and he’ll be stepping up to the decks this November!
Jamie xx is one of the most talented DJs, producers and remix artists going. A member of indie pop heroes The xx, he recently released his debut solo album In Colour to massive critical acclaim – hitting the #1 slot in the UK and Irish Independent Album Charts. His latest single Loud Places featuring Romy is all over the airwaves. He played to a packed out, heaving tent of happy festival goers at this year’s Forbidden Fruit this summer. He is not to be missed!
Giorgio Moroder, Todd Terje, Kaytranada, Jeff Mills, Tiga and a host of others will also be performing this November in Dublin.
