Northern Ireland Music Prize

The shortlist for 2015’s NI Music Prize has just been announced, and winners will be awarded their prize at a gala evening held at the Mandela Hall on the 14th November.

The Northern Ireland Music Prize celebrates the best of Northern Irish music, and this year a panel of 70 experts distilled down a dozen contenders:

  • And So I Watch You From Afar for ‘Heirs’

  • Axis Of for ‘The Mid Brae Inn’

  • BeeMickSee for ‘Belfast Yank’

  • Ciaran Lavery & Ryan Vail for ‘Sea Legs’

  • Duke Special for ‘Look Out Machines’

  • The Lost Brothers for ‘New Songs Of Dawn And Dust
  • Malojian for ‘Southlands’

  • Not Squares for ‘Bolts’

  • A Plastic Rose for ‘Flickering Light of an Inner War
  • SOAK for ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream’

  • Therapy? for ‘Disquiet’

  • and Tim Wheeler for ‘Lost Domain’

The awards evening will take place at 8pm in the Mandela Hall on 14th November, and there will be music from Malojian, Ciaran Lavery, Ryan Vail and The Divine Comedy‘s Neil Hannon, who will receive a lifetime achievement award. Tickets are priced £12, and will be available shortly.
