Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to play SSE Arena next April

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis CREDIT Amanda Smith - 2015 - Promo 02 (1)Today, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are announcing their first European tour in nearly two years, playing their biggest shows on the continent to date including The SSE Arena in Belfast on 21st April 2016.

The duo are partnering with Plus 1 so that a euro / one pound from every ticket purchased on their tour will go to support Partners in Health, Equal Justice Initiative, Youth Speaks and the 30/30 Project. They are committed to using their platform and resources to advance issues of equity and justice and are partnering with organizations dedicated to these same values.

“Downtown” continues to climb the Billboard and radio charts on the rise to quickly become the duo’s 3rd Top 5 hit. The song, which features Eric Nally and Hip Hop pioneers Grandmaster Caz, Kool Moe Dee and Melle Mel, has been performed on the VMA’s and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the video has been viewed over 45 million times on YouTube. It was certified GOLD with over 500,000 in sales in the US, selling over 1 million tracks worldwide.

“Downtown” is the first single from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’s follow up to their multiple GRAMMY Award winning, platinum selling debut album ‘The Heist.’ Album cut, “Growing Up (Sloane’s Song)” featuring Ed Sheeran was released in August. The song was written before the birth of Macklemore’s first child and is dedicated to his daughter Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty. Stay tuned for more details on the forthcoming album.
