Recorded in his home studio on the north coast of Ireland using primarily analog synthesisers and an inherited 90 year old upright piano.
Watch the video to see what happened last week when Ryan Vail travelled to Smalltown America Studios in Derry-Londonderry to see the first test cuts of his single, “Invert”, using a fully restored Japanese lathe machine. From live to record, the sound was incomparable, playing back was a very unique listening experience.
Ryan is running a pledge campaign for the album, of which he says: “The most important thing for me doing this Pledge was to give people an insight into the ideas and people involved in the album ‘For Every Silence’. To do something so limited is virtually unseen now a days. This video gives an insight into the process of making the 7 inch lathe cuts. Enjoy”.
