The Real Music Club is delighted to welcome back one of their most popular artists Eleanor McEvoy on the 21st April 2016 at the Errigle Inn, Belfast.
Musician Eleanor McEvoy releases her new album Naked Music in February and it will see her re-record songs from her back catalogue and collaborate with British artist Chris Gollon on each new interpretation.
“It’s collaboration with the wonderful Chris Gollon,” McEvoy says. “I’ve revisited songs from my catalogue, with a couple of new ones, and recorded them as live – one woman, one voice – in the Grange studio in Norfolk. It’s very exposed intimacy and Chris has continued this theme in his magnificent paintings. He’s painted a picture for every song on the album.”
The record and accompanying exhibition will be launched at Gallery Different in London in January.
McEvoy recently featured on a 2015 album, Songs for Tibet II, released to mark the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday. The record was produced by Rupert Hine, who also produced Eleanor’s 1990s album, Postcards, her most sonically adventurous album, which was recorded at a chateau in Northern France. Sting, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Elbow, Howard Jones and Bob Geldof also feature on Songs for Tibet II.
