Scottish indie legends Idlewild are pleased to announce a return to Belfast for a headline show at The Limelight 2 on Saturday July 30th 2016.
The band made a welcome return in 2015 with their album Everything Ever Written reaching number 20 in the UK Charts. The album was championed in the press by the likes of The Independent, The Times, Guardian, Drowned in Sound, Q, Kerrang!, The Skinny and many others.
To bookend this successful year, the band released single Utopia on 27th November. Appearing at the very end of the album, the track features a heartfelt piano melody rippling throughout the song as layers of sound echo around Roddy Woomble’s vocals. It draws a line under a very successful 2015 with many fans old and new embracing them more warmly than ever.
Earlier in the year the band recruited Canadian actor Jay Baruchel (How To Train Your Dragon, This Is The End, Robocop) to star in the video for Every Little Means Trust, the third single taken from the album, after the band discovered he was a longtime fan.
Having just completed their Japanese, US and UK tours the band appeared at a special Hogmanay concert in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh with Biffy Clyro, the city where Idlewild formed 20 years ago.
Idlewild’s latest album Everything Ever Written is out now via Empty Words and available to buy from all good record stores and online retailers.
