The Dandy Horses – Tales From Hard Luck Town

Whether a folk music aficionado or no, this album is a treat. Not since the greats who began the genre; Peter, Paul & Mary, or The Mamas & The Papas has there been a band that so effectively portrayed the heart of folk music.

A seemingly eclectic collection of tunes there’s quite a difference between the punchy The Path to You, the lilting lament of Starting Over, and the truth-telling themes in Hard Luck Town.

Through the tradition of Celtic storytelling we are taken on a lyrical journey through lust, desire, murder, and prison. These dark subject even still hold rays of light, like a masterpiece painting the tales told through light and shadow, masterful musicianship and impeccable harmonies.

A blend of folk, Irish trad, Americana, with shades of bluegrass using all the tools in their arsenal The Dandy Horses are assuring their continued ascent to folk stardom.
