The Shout – Nowhere To Go But Home

The Shout is a five piece pop/punk/rock band. Hailed as one of Gigging NI’s bands to watch in 2015, the local Belfast guys will be releasing their Nowhere To Go But Home EP in September 2016. After listening to it I’d say they are the ones to watch in 2016 too.

As soon as “Demons” kicked in I knew I was going to love this. It’s got some serious Twin Atlantic mixed with Deaf Havana vibes. The lyrics were perfection and the song had the perfect amount of build up with an incredibly climatic finish. Who doesn’t love a bit of screaming thrown in?

The bass line throughout “This Is What We Came For” is very prominent which makes it very different to ‘Demons’ whilst keeping the same quality and charm. It is upbeat with very touching lyrics. Segments such as “Here’s a thing I said I’m sorry, here’s a thing I’m always scared…” with the harmony in the background is perfection.

The final song “Us V’s Them” could be a perfect addition to the Skate 3 soundtrack without a doubt. It is so noughties punk with a modern twist. The breakdown in the middle separates the song well and gives the listener a chance to get excited and pumped about what is to come.

The EP is fantastic. I cannot wait for its release and reiterate what I said at the beginning, keep an eye on these guys. If you like Fall Out Boy’s Take This To Your Grave,  literally any of Twin Atlantic, pretty much any Tony Hawk’s or Skate soundtrack then you will love this EP.
