Runabay- You I Know

Hailing from the stunning Glens of Antrim come the six piece indie rock band, Runabay. Making a return from a substantial hiatus, the band are certainly cementing themselves as one of Northern Ireland’s most up and coming bands.

Introducing their second single of 2016 ‘You I Know’ is simply one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a long time. Beginning with a soft tranquil tone, it becomes clear that the band take influence from Irish traditional folk music. After a hypnotic opening the track begins to pick up momentum with the vocals becoming more passionate after the second verse. The song the breaks into a captivating instrumental piece before ending as gently as it began.

All I can say about this is that I love it. It’s one of those stunning songs that as soon as you hear it, you stop and listen. It has all the elements you want in a song, poetic lyrics, infectious melody and amazing vocals. To describe the genre of the band is difficult, as they encompass bits of every genre. However fans of Hozier, Foy Vance and Band of Horses will not be disappointed when listening. I truly believe that Runabay are a band to watch as they are most definitely going places. Can’t wait to hear more from them in the future!
