5 Gigs Not To Miss This December

Often we look, with jealously, towards the mainland at our favourite bands touring Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, London… and so on. But recently, we’ve been treated to a few beauties.

I’ve picked out a few that I reckon you should check out (if you can! Tickets may be scarce!) if you have the opportunity.

1. Cast – 10th December 2016 – Limelight, Belfast

Tickets: £22.50 plus fee – 18+ entry – Doors 7pm – Buy yours here.

They last played in a sold out Limelight 2, Belfast in October 2015 and it went down very well with the Northern Irish crowd. They return this year for another performance. Definitely worth a watch if you were/are a fan!

2. Twin Atlantic – 11th December 2016 – Limelight, Belfast

Tickets: £19 plus fee – 18+ entry – Doors 8pm – Buy yours here.

One band definitely not shy of Belfast. Regularly visiting, regularly loved. A good few festival appearances, headline shows, all after supporting Taking Back Sunday many years ago. It’s good to see how they’ve developed. See them again after the release of new album ‘GLA’.

3. Brian Kennedy – 21st December 2016 – Ulster Hall, Belfast

Tickets: £25/£30 plus fee – Doors 8pm – Buy yours here.

The music from Brian’s career has gathered thousands of fans in Ireland, and many others worldwide. He has played at Belfast City Hall prior to Bill Clinton’s arrival in Belfast in 1995 to 70,000 people. He has shared a stage with Bob Dylan and, of course, Van Morrison. Fast forward 21 years, Brian Kennedy will take to the famous Ulster Hall stage.

4. Ryan McMullan – 30th December 2016 – Black Box, Belfast

Tickets: £8.50 plus fee – Doors 7:30pm – Buy yours here.

Ryan has really transformed in 2016 and has went from strength to strength. He most recently supported Foy Vance, shared a stage with Duke Special, Ed Sheeran and Gary Lightbody and now he’s, rightly, taking centre stage. I wish him well.

5. Bry – 30th December 2016 – Mandela Hall, Belfast

Tickets: £16.00 – 14+ entry – Doors 6:30pm – Buy yours here.

This Irish vlogger/singer-songwriter has really took off recently. With a massive audience of fans online declaring their love for him, Bry’s most notable achievement is playing support to global superstars Twenty One Pilots on their European tour. Now is the perfect chance to witness Bry onstage at his own headline show.
