Bon Iver - Forbidden Fruit Festival - Ireland

Bon Iver to headline at Forbidden Fruit Festival

Bon Iver will headline and curating the line-up for an incredibly special evening of music on Monday, 5 June 2017.

The show will take place on the beautiful grounds of the Irish Museum Of Modern Art at The Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin.

Bon Iver, the musical project led by Justin Vernon, will headline Monday night of the vibrant city centre multi-stage music & arts festival with a 90 minute set. This will be the band’s first show in Ireland in over five years since selling out The O2 in late 2012.

Bon Iver’s third full-length album 22, A Million was released in Ireland on September 30th of this year, hitting the #2 spot in the Irish charts and receiving huge critical acclaim.

Other acts being announced as part of this unique and curated bill will include Flying Lotus, Lisa Hannigan, The Staves, Gordi and Paul Thomas Saunders.  More acts for the MONDAY bill – all of which is curated by Bon Iver – will be announced in the new year.

Flying Lotus, an experimental, multi-genre music producer, electronic musician, DJ and rapper from LA will be performing along with his amazing 3D show. Irish singer, songwriter and musician Lisa Hannigan’s 3rd album At Swim was released earlier this year to universal praise, topping the Irish charts. Her crystal, soaring vocals and beautiful melodies make for a breath-taking live show.  Lisa performed at Justin and National’s Aaron Dessner’s Eaux Claires Festival in Wisconsin this summer.

The Staves, a folk rock trio of sisters, hail from England. Their second full length LP, If I Was, was produced by Justin. They have toured across the US, winning over fans at every show. Australian songwriter Gordi (AKA Sophie Payten) performed just this weekend in NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom with Bon Iver. Her ear for melodies with twinkly, acoustic-meets-electronic arrangements and vocal harmonies that swell and surge have made her one to watch – and one not to miss! Leeds born musician Paul Thomas Saunders will also be showcasing his 60s and 70s inspired dreamy, ethereal and psychedelic tunes.

Bon Iver will be curating the Bank Holiday Monday only, and there will be more acts to be revealed soon! We have lots more announcements about Saturday and Sunday of Forbidden Fruit, so stay tuned!
