Most recently garnering four Grammy nominations – including two for the night’s biggest awards, Album of the Year (Purpose) and Song of the Year (“Love Yourself)” – global superstar JUSTIN BIEBER has announced a stadium show in Dublin, Ireland on June 21, 2017 at RDS Stadium as part of his wildly successful PURPOSE WORLD TOUR, with Grammy-nominated Halsey opening the show. This show follows his two sold out dates at Dublin’s 3Arena in November 2016. Special support will come from Halsey.
Born in New Jersey, Grammy-nominated artist Halsey went from last year’s MTV Artist to Watch to selling out Madison Square Garden to a Platinum-certified debut album, BADLANDS (Astralwerks) in less than seven months. Halsey’s very first tour sold-out in minutes, as did her second sold-out headlining tour last year.
This year, she took the BADLANDS tour global with sold out dates on five continents and she has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Last Call with Carson Daly. BADLANDS was released on August 28, 2015, reaching #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawning the platinum single “New Americana,” which reached the Top 20 on Billboard’s U.S. Alternative Songs chart along with 5 certified gold singles including “Colors” and “Castle”.
“Closer,” her track with The Chainsmokers, is the second longest running #1 at Top 40 Radio of all time, is certified 4x Platinum , and has over 600 million streams on Spotify. Continuing her incredible year, she was recently named Billboard’s 2016 Women In Music Rising Star, was selected as one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 honorees and was hand-picked to perform at this December’s Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway.
Since the North American launch of the world tour in March, Bieber has sold out 64 U.S. and 52 international tour dates, thrilling fans around the world with his dynamic, must-see live show. Bieber most recently dominated the 2016 American Music Awards with four wins – the most of any artist that night – for Favorite Male Pop/Rock Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album (Purpose), Favorite Pop/Rock Song (“Love Yourself”) and Video of the Year (“Sorry”).
He also joined the telecast by performing “Let Me Love You” live from his Purpose World Tour date in Bologna, Italy, marking his sixth performance on the awards show. Earlier in November, Bieber took home three MTV EMA awards – Best Song (“Sorry), Biggest Fans and Best Canadian Act – making him the top winner of the show.
With a global #1 album release in over 100 countries and consecutive #1 singles, Purpose is shattering records worldwide – including a record for having 17 songs in the Hot 100 in one week (beating The Beatles and Drake) – and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
