5 Unmissable gigs in Northern Ireland this April
March was a blast with many sold out shows including Stormzy, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, Run the Jewels and many more!
Here are our tips for April 2017. Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival has played a blinder so you’ll see a few mentions in here – it was tough to get it down to 5 but here’s it is, our 5 gigs not to miss in Northern Ireland this month.
The Jesus & Mary Chain – 8th April 2017
Playing in the Limelight Belfast, this show is sure to go down a treat. The Scottish alternative rock outfit disbanded in the late nineties before reuniting less than ten years later. Their latest album Damage and Joy was released last month so this surely will be a hit with the fans? Info & tickets here.
The Big Moon – 25th April 2017
After some cracking support tours with The Vaccines and The Maccabees, The Big Moon have earned their right to their own headline tour – they play Belfast’s Oh Yeah Centre. With the release of their debut album Love in the 4th Dimension, this may be one not to miss before the band shoot on to greater heights. Info & tickets here.
Therapy? – 26th April 2017
Following on from extensive periods of touring for their most recent album, Disquiet, the new tour offer a rare chance to see the band in a different context – acoustic in the Empire Hall! It may be worthwhile to catch this one as it may be a one-off! Info & tickets here.
Robert Cray – 27th April 2017
Considered one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, Cray’s soulful and creative guitar work has been a dominant force in blues for over 40 years. A five-time Grammy winner, Cray has become one of the most popular artists in Blues & Soul music! Another CQAF treat! Info & tickets here.
Booker T Jones – 30th April 2017
Playing in Belfast as part of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, this Grammy-award winning songwriter and producer returns to these shores to wow again after his last performance in 2015 for Out to Lunch. You may buy tickets for this one! Info & tickets here.
