The Shires and Una Healy have just been announced to perform at Harvest Country Music Festival. Two festivals, one weekend – 26th and 27th August 2017. Each Festival will have two days of live entertainment featuring 40 International and Irish acts across four different Music Stages.
The Shires, a duo consisting of Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes have made a whirlwind impact over the last 18 months, so much so that the UK country music scene really now falls into two dynasties: pre-Shires and post-Shires. Ben and Crissie only became the Shires after combining their considerable experience in the spring of 2013. This March, Ben and Crissie’s arrival as British country royalty was complete, as they found themselves on stage introducing US superstars, as official ambassadors of the Country to Country Festival.
Their album, My Universe, not only has the Shires in the most confident writing and performing form of their careers, but confirms that their pre-eminence in both departments is being taken extremely seriously in the very home of country music.
Tipperary woman Una Healy is a member of on-hiatus chart-topping girl-group The Saturdays, who recently returned to her solo career to complete her debut album The Waiting Game for Decca Records, revealing a beautiful country music sensibility.
She has received widespread acclaim for her hit duet with Sam Palladio, “Stay My Love”. Una also took part in the Forever Country Covers Series, which celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Country Music Association Awards, performing “Forever and Ever, Amen”, originally a hit for CMA winner Randy Travis.
