Terry Conlon - I'm Leaving

Review: Terry Conlon – I’m Leaving

Terry Conlon, a talented musician from Armagh has just released ‘I’m Leaving’ from his upcoming debut album Homegrown. Taking inspiration from “memories of my home, friends and family, love and pain, and how they seem to go hand in hand”, he has created a cracker tune.

Beginning his love of music at just aged 7, this guy has extensive musical experience and this can definitely be heard on this track. With seamless transitions, tempos and variety of sounds and instruments, this guy knows his stuff. Oh and that voice! Terry has a subtle, raw, masculine voice that compliments the pitch and ambience of this track and album.  ‘I’m Leaving’  projects a catchy but chilled vibe expressing a contemporary, alternative folk sound which is laced with subtle hints of a Mumford & Sons or The Lumineers sound.

I have literally had this song on repeat since I first heard it. This guy is one to watch and I predict great things from him.

There is something special about listening to an album for the first time or listening to live music. The thing I love even better ... writing about it with a cuppa beside me.
