Review: Bear Skin – All Along

There’s nothing better than sticking a song on and from the first few seconds you’re absolutely hooked. That was the case with Bear Skin’s new single All Along.

The heavy bassline at the beginning lures you in from the outset.  Pair that with a punchy drum beat and an energising scream before everything else kicks off and you’re captivated within 40 seconds.

All Along is full of memorable riffs, perfect harmonies, an upbeat tempo and raw vocals alongside hints of the Northern Irish accent (which is always a winner for me in music).

All Along is quite different to Bear Skin’s previous single Blame It On My Father which is much more bluesy.  This is in no way a negative, if anything it demonstrates their diversity and ability to experiment with genre.

In short, this track is incredibly memorable and leaves the listener craving more. After my first listen all I wanted to do was go and see it performed live, a good sign for a four minute single.
