Gorillaz to play open-air concert in Dublin next year
Gorillaz have been announced to play at Malahide Castle, Dublin on 9th June 2018.
Hot on the heels of their chart-topping, critically acclaimed new studio album Humanz – their first in 7 years – Gorillaz will make a welcome return to Dublin to play their biggest and most exciting Irish show to date: an open air concert in the beautiful surrounds of Malahide Castle on 9th June.
Since their eponymous debut release in 2001, Gorillaz have proven to be one of the most unique and iconic pop acts around. A truly global phenomenon, they have achieved success in ways entirely ground-breaking in popular music, continuing to push boundaries and smash records in their own inimitable way. Most recently, the 360° six-minute animated film “Saturnz Barz (Spirit House)” from new album Humanz scored the most successful debut in YouTube VR history.
Gorillaz are 2D (vocals), Noodle (guitar), Russel Hobbs (drums) and Murdoc Niccals (bass). With four acclaimed albums to their name – Gorillaz (2001), Demon Dayz (2005), Plastic Beach (2010), The Fall (2011). Humanz, the new album from Gorillaz – “… an inspired party album for a world gone mad.” (The Guardian) – was released on 28th April 2017 on Parlophone Records, reaching #1 in the U.S. and #2 in both Ireland and U.K. charts, and topped the iTunes charts in over 60 countries around the world.
