Children aged 2 years and under do not require a ticket and will be permitted to attend for free when accompanied by an adult aged 18+. However, please bear in mind these are outdoor events, with large crowds expected which may not be suitable for children of a very young age.
The booking process will be handled by Ticketmaster – the only official ticketing agent for The Biggest Weekend. There are over 175,000 tickets available to the public and tickets will be geographically weighted with a percentage available to each of the local areas. There will be 18,000 tickets per day for Belfast.
How are tickets allocated?
Staging each event would be impossible without the help and support of the local councils in each location and a number of tickets (Pot 1) will initially be reserved for residents of the respective council area.
A second set of tickets (Pot 2) will be reserved for others living in the wider surrounding area of each event, with the remainder unreserved (Pot 3).
Please note, to apply for tickets in Pots 1 or 2 you will need to enter the postcode of your home address at the time of purchase in the ‘Enter Offer Code’ box on Ticketmaster. You will be asked for the billing address of the credit card used to book tickets, and further checks will be made to verify your details. If the card is not registered at the address / postcode used when applying for tickets from Pot 1 or 2 you will be asked for proof to verify that you are a resident of the respective area for each Pot. Tickets obtained by using false addresses may be cancelled without notice.
Pots 1 and 2 will be in operation for 7 days from 12th February until midday on Monday 19th February – in the unlikely event that tickets from pots 1 and 2 do not sell out, any unsold tickets will be moved to Pot 3 and put on general sale at this point for anyone to purchase.
The tickets will be divided into three ‘pots’:
1. Pot 1 – 45% of tickets will be reserved for those who live in the areas covered by Belfast City Council.
2. Pot 2 – 40% of tickets will be reserved for residents living in the rest of Northern Ireland.
3. Pot 3 – The remaining 15% will be unreserved.
A limited number of tickets for the events in Belfast will also be sold over the counter via Ticketmaster outlets. These outlets will be allocated tickets from pots 1 and 2. A list of outlets can be found here.
Is there a limit to the number of tickets that I can purchase for BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend?
You can only purchase tickets for one day, and one location at a time and there will be a strict ticket limit of up to 4 tickets per person, per credit card, per day for all events.
You can, subject to availability, purchase tickets for a second day, or second location, once your first transaction has been completed. You can also purchase a ticket on behalf of someone else, however please note the admission restrictions for Pot 3 in Swansea requires that the card holder MUST enter the event at the same time as all guests as their card will be needed to gain entry.
No more than five transactions across BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend will be accepted on any one credit card.
