At the forefront of Belfast-based alt-rock outfit Wynona Bleach (formerly known of course as R51) is the green-haired and exceptionally talented Melyssa Shannon. Her spearheading of one of Northern Ireland’s most exciting bands should be watched intently.

What are you listening to right now: Curve
Most memorable gig: We supported Feeder in The Limelight in 2016. Feeder were such a huge part of the soundtrack to my teenage years, so supporting them was such a big deal for me!
Favourite venue to perform in: We played in the Ulster Hall for ATL’s 30th Birthday, that was a really cool venue to play in!
What got you into music: I grew up borrowing my dads CDs, & he introduced me to a lot of the bands I still love now. Then I had a chance meeting with our guitarist Jonny in 2006, & we’ve been in bands together ever since!
