Toploader added to Harmony Live in Holywood this June
Global hit makers Toploader will join Reef at Harmony Live 18 on the opening night of the now iconic County Down festival on June 1.
After scoring a worldwide hit with Dancing In The Moonlight Toploader are recognised as one of the acts that have re-imagined themselves and become ever more popular. Last year the band released Seeing Stars complete with the singles Roll With The Punches and Boom Song to critical acclaim.
Joseph Washburn of the band said they were looking forward to their date at Harmony Live 18. “The reception we have had to Seeing Stars has been phenomenal,” he said. “We can’t wait to play in Northern Ireland in June.
“Fans can expect songs new and old, and of course a great time!”
With Reef and The Boomtown Rats already announced Toploader takes the annual event to even higher levels.
The three-day festival, which is set to pack out the Co Down town, will run from June 1-3 at the Festival Marquee in the Holywood Rugby Club grounds.
Previously known as the Holywood Harmony Festival, Harmony Live will see Toploader, Reef and The Boomtown Rats take to the stage at the main marquee as well as supporting events across several venues in the town. Last year the festival welcomed over 15,000 people into the town and organisers are expecting to top that figure this year having doubled the size of their marquee to accommodate the three main acts.
Festival director Mari Jackson said: “We’re delighted that Toploader are joining Reef and the Boomtown Rats in another great coup for the festival committee and I know everyone who is in the marquee on June 1 will have their hands in the air for this tremendous live band.”
Mari said Harmony Live is more than just a music event “it’s a weekend that welcomes involvement from throughout the community” she explained, adding: “Putting Holywood firmly on the map as an exciting music and tourist destination the Harmony Live Festival supports the local economy, working with service providers, vendors and contractors in the area and improving the footfall into the town and businesses throughout the weekend. We’re delighted to be bringing bigger names year on year to Holywood. The festival has grown substantially over the last few years due to the sheer dedication and hard work of our committee. We’ve local acts being added to the bills and other events planned around the weekend, it’s definitely going to be one not to miss.”
