Music Review: Mandy Bingham – Bury Me Deep
Finely crafted melodies meet natural talent in this tender collection by folk songstress, Mandy Bingham. Her new album, Bury Me Deep, set to launch May 2018 relies upon Bingham’s strengths in folk music, honing harmonies into contemporary elucidation.
That beautifully delicate, bone china voice weaves whispery filaments into fine song writing. The vulnerable charm of In the Creases of My Heart and Epically Falling set the tone for this subtle but strong compilation. I’m Not Crying dips into country and blues while maintaining Bingham’s temperate delivery.
Title track Bury Me Deep, with acoustic and lap guitar paints with hues of blues against gossamer choruses. The tenor of The Days of Pearly Spencer read like a love letter to past folk traditions, perfectly rounding up this compendium of charming tracks.
