Queen’s Brian May releases first single since 1998

Brian May, guitarist of Queen and astrophysicist, has released a new single ‘New Horizons’ about NASA’s historic flypast of Ultima Thule.

He released the song on New Year’s Day twenty years after the release of his last single ‘Why Don’t We Try Again.’

The song marks NASA’s latest mission which achieved the most distant spacecraft flyby in history, zooming within 2,200 miles (3,500 kilometers) of Ultima Thule.

Ultima lies about 4 billion miles (6.4 billion km) from Earth and is now the farthest-flung celestial body ever to be visited by a spacecraft.
